International arbitration - New French arbitration law reflects a boldly liberal approach

France’s position as one of the most liberal arbitration regimes in the world will be reinforced when its overhaul of the French Arbitration Act comes into effect on 1 May 2011. The Act, which codifies case law, also introduces some remarkable innovations, most of which are aimed at speeding up enforcement of arbitral awards.
