On July 10, 2008, Babcock & Wilcox Canada Ltd., Babcock & Wilcox Nuclear Power Generation Group, Inc. and Babcock & Wilcox Equity Investments, Inc. (collectively, "B&W"), subsidiaries of McDermott International, Inc. (NYSE: MDR), acquired by way of share and membership interest acquisitions, respectively, Intech International Inc. (located in Dundas, Ontario), and Intech, Inc. and Ivey-Cooper Services, L.L.C. (each located in Chattanooga, Tennessee) (collectively, the "Intech Companies"). The acquisition of the Intech Companies helps to expand B&W's capabilities in serving the US commercial nuclear service market, strengthen its position in the Canadian nuclear service market, and enhance its existing inspection services to fossil plant customers.
Ogilvy Renault LLP represented B&W in Canada with a team which included James Cade, Troy Ungerman and Christopher Hall (corporate, M&A), Michael Torrance (employment and labour) and Paul Feuer (competition).
