The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) recently released the second edition of Environmental Claims: A Guide for Industry and Advertisers. Developed in partnership with the Competition Bureau, these guidelines serve as a reference for evaluating whether or not a product's environmental claims comply with the Competition Act, the Consumer Packaging and Labelling Act, and the Textile Labelling Act. Andrew Taylor, Co-Chair of our Cleantech team, examines the potential impact the CSA's parameters could have on the way companies advertise and market their products.
