Recently, an economic shadow has been cast on the solar energy industry. From the global economic crisis to an unprecedented worldwide overcapacity, the solar sector is certainly facing challenges. But there are bright spots. Ontario is a hub for the Canadian solar industry. The Green Energy Act and its FIT program has already stimulated sizeable investment. The recent proposed $7 billion deal between the Province of Ontario and Samsung to develop renewable energy projects, including the development of 500MW of solar energy, is just one example. The long-term prospects for solar continue to be strong.
We hope you can join us for "Solar Power: What's on the Horizon?", part of our continuing Cleantech in Canada seminar series. Industry experts will share their thoughts on key emerging opportunities for cleantech entrepreneurs, investors and government.
This seminar series is offered in partnership by industry leaders Deloitte and Ogilvy Renault with MaRS Discovery District, a large scale, mission driven innovation centre focused on building Canada's next generation of technology companies.
