Patent Infringement
Acted as counsel to GlaxoSmithKline in a suit against generic drug manufacturers Apotex Inc. and Novopharm Limited for infringing GlaxoSmithKline's Canadian patent concerning the use of zidovudine (AZT) in the treatment of AIDS. In December 2002, the Supreme Court of Canada confirmed the validity of GlaxoSmithKline's patent and the existence of infringement.
