Ranking/Recognition

Ogilvy Renault is pleased to have 70 lawyers recognized by the Best Lawyers in Canada, a major legal directory that publishes annually in partnership with the National Post. Last year, the firm had 55 people ranked.

Several of our people are ranked in more than one category including Pierre Cimon, managing partner of the Québec office, who is listed in seven different areas of practice centring on his extensive litigation practice. Also notable is Olivier Kott, senior partner in the Montréal Litigation Group, who was listed in five categories. In late 2007, Olivier completed one of the longest cases in Canadian history with a Supreme Court victory representing Domtar in its matter against ABB Inc.

The rankings also reinforce our strong position in such areas as Corporate Finance and Securities (13 lawyers ranked), Employment and Labour Law (12), Corporate and Commercial Litigation (7) and Intellectual Property (6), which all represent our trusted expertise across our four major operational lines: Business, Employment and Labour, Intellectual Property and Litigation.
