Biography
Richard Sutin handles capital market transactions and mergers and acquisitions for private and publicly traded corporations, provides ongoing corporate and securities law advice to issuers and financial intermediaries, regularly advises boards of directors and special board committees, and mediates shareholder disputes.
Mr. Sutin is Co-Chair of our Cleantech Team, a former member of our Executive Committee and a past member of the Advisory Committee to the Ontario Securities Commission.

- Advised Bioniche Life Sciences and Bioniche Urology in connection with the US licence, development and supply agreement with Endo Pharmaceuticals for Bioniche's lead drug candidate UrocidinTM, a mycobacterial cell wall-DNA complex which Bioniche Life Sciences developed and owns
- TSX Group, Second Cup, Chapters, Cinram, ComDev, Connor Clark, SIR Royalty Fund and Pet Valu on initial public offerings
- Cathay Forest Products, Neo Materials (formerly AMR Technologies), Bioniche Life Sciences, Toronto Hospital, Monarch Development Corp. and Hurricane Hydrocarbons in secondary financing assignments
- Connor Clark in the sale to Royal Bank
- The controlling shareholder of Canadian General Investments/Third Canadian General Investment Trust in successfully defending a hostile bid from AGF
- Peter Cundill & Associates in a strategic alliance with MacKenzie Financial Corporation
- The acquirors in the purchase of a strategic stake in Arbor Capital
- The controlling shareholder of Sodisco-Howden in the sale to Canwell Building Products
- The Special Committee of Rogers Wireless in both an unsuccessful and subsequent successful going-private transaction with Rogers Communications
