Richard S. Sutin

Biography

Richard Sutin handles capital market transactions and mergers and acquisitions for private and publicly traded corporations, provides ongoing corporate and securities law advice to issuers and financial intermediaries, regularly advises boards of directors and special board committees and mediates shareholder disputes.

Mr. Sutin is a member of our Executive Committee and Co-Chair of our Cleantech Team. He is a past member of the Advisory Committee to the Ontario Securities Commission.

• Advising Connor Clark on the sale to Royal Bank
• Advising the controlling shareholder of Canadian General Investments/Third Canadian General Investment Trust in successfully defending a hostile bid from AGF
• Advised Peter Cundill & Associates in strategic alliance with MacKenzie Financial Corporation
• Advised acquirors in purchase of strategic stake in Arbor Capital
• Advised the controlling shareholder of Sodisco-Howden in the sale to Canwell Building Products
• Advised the Special Committee of Rogers Wireless in both an unsuccessful and subsequent successful going-private transaction with Rogers Communications
• Advised Special Committees of Centrefund, GSW Corp. and Sterling Centrecorp in sale transactions
