Biography

Paul Field has expertise in mechanical patents, civil and environmental engineering patents, technology licensing, industrial design, trade-marks and copyright. As a professional engineer with Dominion Bridge Co., Mr. Field was responsible for mechanical and structural design, manufacturing, plant engineering and construction supervision.

Since graduating from the University of Toronto Law School, Mr. Field has practised intellectual property law exclusively. His patent practice focuses on drafting and prosecuting patent applications for a wide range of technologies, including gas turbine aircraft engines, oil and gas equipment, mining and chemical processing equipment, plastic moulding equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic devices, medical ventilation and resuscitation equipment, paper-making and steel-making machinery, brain tomography devices, food processing equipment, construction and transportation vehicles, soil and water remediation, surgical devices, antennae shields and optical devices. Mr. Field's intellectual property practice includes advice and legal services on matters relating to trade-mark, copyright, industrial design, licensing and technology transfer.
