Ogilvy Renault's M&A, Corporate Finance and Technology Practices strengthened by addition of Jay Lefton

Toronto - Ogilvy Renault LLP is pleased to announce that Jay A. Lefton will be joining the firm as a partner in its Business Law Group in Toronto, July 1, 2007. Jay brings close to 25 years of experience in M&A, corporate finance and securities law, with a particular emphasis in the life sciences and technology sectors.

Prior to joining the firm, Jay was a partner with Aird & Berlis LLP where he held dual leadership roles as co-chair of the firm's M&A Team and chair of the firm's Life Sciences Team. Jay is recognized by Lexpert, a leading Canadian legal directory, as one of the most frequently recommended Canadian lawyers in corporate mid-market and is also repeatedly recommended in private equity. He has represented Canadian, U.S. and international companies and private equity funds involved in cross-border and international transactions, including Adobe Systems, Allied Research, Applied Micro Circuits, Autodesk, HM Capital Partners, Metasolv Software, Pharma Medica Research, Polycom, Seagate Technology, Synopsys, Trillium Therapeutics and many other biotech and tech companies at various stages of financing and expansion.

Jay is a former member of the Ontario Securities Commission's Securities Advisory Committee, and has taught at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto and at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
