Yves Fortier named Emeritus Director for 2007

Montréal - Ogilvy Renault is proud to announce that yesterday Mtre Yves Fortier, Chairman of our firm, received the award of "Emeritus Director" for the year 2007 at the awards ceremony for the prestigious Quebec contest "Excellence in Corporate Governance" sponsored by Korn/Ferry International and Commerce magazine. Bernard A. Roy, Q.C., Counsel at Ogilvy Renault, had the privilege and challenge of introducing his friend and colleague Yves Fortier at the gala attended by over 250 guests. Yves Fortier, C.C., O.Q., Q.C., LL.D., has been the Chairman of the firm since January 1992. He is a well-known international arbitrator who was recognized as the top arbitrator in the world by The American Lawyer/Focus Europe as a result of surveys conducted globally across a wide range of law firms from January 2003 to April 2005. He served as Canada's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 1988 to 1992. In 1991, Mr. Fortier was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada and in 1994, he was made a Companion of the Order of Canada, the highest level of the Order. About Yves Fortier
