Yves Fortier Awarded an Honorary Doctorate in International Studies

In recognition of the importance of his contribution in the field of international studies, Yves Fortier was awarded a Doctorate in International Studies honoris causa from Laval University at the convocation ceremonies of the Institut québécois des hautes études internationales on June 14, 2008.
Mr. Fortier, who was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1976 and a Companion of the Order of Canada in 1994, has been recognized as the top arbitrator in the world by The American Lawyer/Focus Europe. The awarding of this honorary doctorate is yet another tribute to Mr. Fortier's brilliant career which has spanned the worlds of law, business and international diplomacy.
