Pierre A. Michaud Receives the Médaille du Barreau du Québec

Ogilvy Renault is proud to announce that Pierre A. Michaud, OC, QC, is the recipient of the Médaille du Barreau du Québec for 2008. The award is the highest honour bestowed by the Bar of the Province of Quebec.
The Medal is awarded once a year in recognition of an individual who has made a significant contribution to Quebec society in the legal field. Last year it was awarded to the Right Honourable Brian Mulroney.
Pierre became a member of the Quebec Bar in 1961. In 1983, he was appointed to the bench of the Quebec Superior Court, becoming Associate Chief Justice in 1992. In 1994, he was appointed Chief Justice of the Quebec Court of Appeal.
In 2002, Mr. Michaud retired as Chief Justice to join the firm as counsel, focusing on advising in appellate matters as well as on national and international arbitration.
