Ogilvy Renault Appoints 14 Senior Partners

Montréal, May 6, 2008 - Ogilvy Renault is pleased to announce the appointment of 14 partners to "Senior Partners" of the firm in recognition of their 25 years of call to the Bar.
"I am pleased to congratulate each individual for this achievement," said Pierre Bienvenu, managing partner, Ogilvy Renault. "We are privileged to have as partners people with such impressive skills and experience, and we value their commitment to the legal profession."
The new senior partners come from all four of the firm's practice groups (Business Law, Litigation, Intellectual Property and Employment and Labour) reflecting the strength of Ogilvy Renault's full-service offering.

Luc R. Beaulieu - Employment and Labour
Luc practises in the areas of employment and labour law, human rights and freedoms and administrative law (litigation and judicial review).
Jean G. Bertrand - Litigation
Jean focuses on commercial and corporate litigation, as well as class actions, arbitration and administrative law. He is a member of the firm's Executive Committee and is National Chair of the Litigation Group.
Michel G. Carle - Employment and Labour
Michel practises all aspects of employment and labour law and has in-depth knowledge of the manufacturing, retail and pharmaceuticals industries.
Jean-Pierre Colpron - Business Law
Jean-Pierre practises business law, with particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and tax-driven corporate restructurings.
Thomas R.M. Davis - Business Law
Tam's practice focuses on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, energy law (electricity) and corporate commercial law, in both domestic and cross-border transactions.
Marc Lacourcière - Business Law
Marc's practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, securities and corporate law, with significant expertise representing Canadian and international clients in large and complex transactions. He is a member of the Firm's Executive Committee.
Anouk Violette - Employment and Labour
Anouk has recognized expertise in administrative and labour law and specializes in complex legal research and opinions.

John has expertise in several areas including commercial real estate, construction law, corporate and commercial law, mining and resources and product liability.
Richard Wagner - Business Law
Richard focuses on Canadian federal administrative and regulatory laws that affect business, with particular emphasis on customs, international trade, competition and government procurement law.

Richard J. Charney - Employment and Labour
Richard practises management labour relations and employment law. He is Chair of the Federal Labour and Employment Team.
Brian W. Gray - Intellectual Property
Brian practises litigation and dispute resolution for patent, copyright, trade-mark and advertising matters and represents clients with large patent and trade-mark portfolios before the Federal and Ontario courts.
Jay A. Lefton - Business Law
Jay practises corporate and securities law, including financings, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and strategic alliances, technology transfer and licensing, with an emphasis on technology and life sciences companies.
William W. McNamara - Litigation
Bill focuses on corporate litigation with particular expertise in product liability including class action claims, competition, banking, and litigation relating to privacy, shareholders' rights, shareholders' disputes and oppression proceedings.
Peter S. Newell - Business Law
Peter's practice focuses on general commercial law, including business acquisitions and dispositions. He advises on Canadian and international matters and has considerable experience negotiating Canada-U.S. cross-border transactions.
