Ogilvy Renault Appoints 11 New Partners

Toronto - Ogilvy Renault LLP is pleased to announce that 11 lawyers have been appointed Partners of the firm, effective January 1, 2008.

The new partners come from the firm's four main practice groups (Business Law, Employment and Labour, Intellectual Property, and Litigation) reflecting the strength of Ogilvy Renault's full-service offering.
Admitted to the Partnership are:
MONTRÉAL
George Maughan - Business Law
George practises primarily in the area of banking law. has also developed particular expertise in the areas of acquisition, project and structured financings. He has represented clients in securitization, factoring and cross-border leasing transactions. He joined the firm in 2001.
Patrick M. Shea - Business Law
Patrick practises primarily in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial law, banking and financial products, and securities. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Shea practised in these areas for five years in New York City as an associate at a top-tier U.S. law firm. He joined the firm in 2004.
Martin Thériault - Business Law
Martin practises in the areas of commercial contracts, corporate financing, financial services and general banking law. From 1999 to 2002, he practised law at the firm before moving to London where he practised in these same areas at a major British law firm. He rejoined the firm in August 2005.
Alexis-François Charette - Employment and Labour
Alexis practises in all areas of employment and labour law. He joined the firm in 2000.
Marie-Christine Hivon - Litigation
Marie-Christine has considerable experience in civil litigation, particularly in insurance law matters. She also practises in the area of commercial litigation and she is member of both Quebec and New York Bar. She joined the firm in 2000.
Catherine Martel - Litigation
Catherine practice consists mainly in research and drafting (factums and arguments, among others) in all areas of law, more specifically Quebec civil law, corporate, administrative and constitutional law, civil liberties and penal law. She joined the firm in 2002.
QUÉBEC
Chantale Coulombe - Intellectual Property
Lawyer and Trade-Mark Agent, Chantale practises in all areas of intellectual property law, particularly trade-mark and copyright law. She has developed significant expertise in the new technologies sector. Among other things, Chantale is asked to negotiate licensing agreements and draft agreements in the field of information technology. She joined the firm in 2001.
TORONTO
David M.A. Amato - Business Law
David is recognized as a leading practitioner in Canada in asset-based lending. He has extensive experience in sophisticated debt financing transactions. He joined the firm in 2001.
Barry N. Segal - Business Law
Barry practice encompasses all areas of domestic and international tax planning, with particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions (public and private), cross-border finance, corporate restructurings and project finance. He joined the firm in 2001.
Andrew A. Taylor - Business Law
Andrew practises in the areas of energy regulatory law and environmental law. He has extensive experience in the electricity and gas industries. He has been involved in the energy sector since 1997. Mr. Taylor is Co-Chair of the firm's Cleantech practice. He joined the firm in 2003. Prior to practising energy law in private practice, he was in-house counsel at Ontario Hydro.
Yusra Siddiquee - Employment and Labour
Yusra leads the Business Immigration and International Mobility practice in the firm's Toronto office. She develops corporate immigration strategies to facilitate the temporary and permanent entry to Canada of senior executives and key personnel of multinational corporations. She joined the firm in 2006.
