Expertise

Administrative and Judicial Review

Clients rely on our ability to advise them on the federal and/or provincial regulatory regimes governing the activities of businesses of Canada. Our expertise stems from our broad experience and practical knowledge in a wide range of business sectors - many of which have overlapping regulatory and administrative law issues and concerns - and in our ability to address these business issues comprehensively using our extensive resources in litigation, employment and labour, intellectual property and business law.

As a result, we are able to:

  • Provide broad ranging advice and representation in business activities and sectors regulated under Canadian law
  • Advise new entrants in regulated fields
  • Problem solve regulatory issues arising between clients and organizations, such as administrative boards, commissions, tribunals, professional associations, and their disciplinary committees
  • Negotiate, advise and litigate matters relating to public tendering
  • Facilitate successful relationships between clients and their regulatory authority

We provide representation before courts and tribunals including: the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, provincial courts, the Supreme Court of Canada, the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Information Commissioner, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, and the Competition Tribunal amongst others.
