Freedom of Information
We offer expertise in all areas relating to access to, and freedom of, information, including:
- Developing third party submissions in response to requests for access to commercial records held by government agencies including Health Canada, Public Works and Government Services Canada, Industry Canada, and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade
- Resisting access to information requests, including litigation before the courts and inquiries and appeals before provincial information commissioners - the Information Commissioner of Canada, Privacy Commissioner of Canada, Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, Information and Privacy Commissioner/Ontario, Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal and courts and tribunals in Ontario and Québec, both in first instance and on appeal
- Preparing access requests
- Drafting complaints to provincial and federal information commissioners
